Why not do an extra challenge to further reinforce word recognition and reading fluency?

After either of the games (or as a separate activity), a student can take the 3-Time Challenge.

Arrange 10 phrase cards across in a long row or two on a table.

The student correctly reads the 'long, silly sentence' 3 times.

Record the time for each read in seconds.

The aim is to try to 'Beat Your Own Time'.

Score Pad for 3-Time Challenge:

• Record the 3 reading times in seconds.
• Tick or add a Sticker if you 'beat your own time'.
• See how many can be accumulated!
